We are lucky enough to have local historian and all round nice guy Phil Catling coming to give us a talk on the role of women during WWII.

We also have cake, news, chat and name badge making so why don't you join us? 

We love meeting new people and will make you very welcome!

Your local food bank need you!

Chelwood Food Bank is our nearest food bank based in Adswood. 

The shopping list of items needed are posted every Monday via chelfordfoodbankplus.org 

They also need carrier bags with strong handles.

Please drop off items at 5 Beech Road, Cale Green, Stockport in the black box by the side gate, or via Rita Thompson at this address.

Unfortunately fresh food cannot be accepted and items should not be past their 'use by' date.

Donations large or small helps someone in need.

We have an allotment...OMG how exciting!

The allotment group is co-ordinated by Lisa, who seems rather chuffed in the picture below.

The plot is at the Barnfield Road East Allotment, just passed the Jolly Sailor in Davenport.

Show the Love 2017

This February, people across the country will show the love for all the things that are affected by climate change through the power of green hearts. Whether you make one, wear one or share one, each green heart is a moment of possibility — a chance to begin a conversation about the things we love that climate change threatens and the opportunities for a world powered by clean and secure energy.

We have a wide range of resources on the website to help you and your WI make green hearts to #ShowTheLove this Valentines Day.

We also have Green Heart stickers which we can send out to members - please get in touch with the Public Affairs team at pa@nfwi.org.uk to request them.

Please share photos of your finished hearts with us with the hashtag #ShowTheLove on Facebook and Twitter or e-mail pa@nfwi.org.uk Also please let us know if you are planning a green hearts workshop with your WI.

Happy New Year everyone! 

It is subscription month so if you fancy signing up this year you will need to bring a cheque for £39 made payable to Cale Green WI or £39 in cash for our first meeting of the year on Saturday 7th Jan @ 5pm.

** It would help so much if you could bring the right money as it will speed everything up.** 

If you are joining as a dual member, it will be £19.

If you would just like to visit before making the decision, it will be £4 on the door. 

It would be lovely to have some new faces joining our wonderful community.

Can you help with the concert?

Good afternoon ladies!

As Helen mentioned at the December meeting a concert is being held on Friday 10th February at St George's Parish church and the WI have been put in charge of refreshments! YAY I love sorting cake and feeding people:-)

I need volunteers to bake and volunteers for the night to serve tea/coffee/cake/wine etc.
If you are interested in helping you would need to be available to bake in time for me to collect cake from you on the Friday afternoon and/or available from 5:30pm to 9:30pm on the night to help set up, help serve and help tidy up refreshments at the end of the night.

I will be holding a quick get together after our WI Meeting on Saturday night so if you are interested and want more information stay behind on Saturday and  I can give you more info, answer questions and start distributing roles.

Thank you ladies-it is going to be a great evening for a fabulous family! x
