We Need Your Many Talents for the Cale Green WI Stall

Cale Green WI craft stall will be hosting at the friends of Cale Green park summer event this year.

MAKE AND DONATE

We would love to be as diverse as possible but at the moment we have no idea how much talent we have in our group. This list is by no means exhaustive but will hopefully gives us a starting point.

We would love it if you would make and donate some handmade craft items that we can sell on the stall to raise funds for the group. We have come up with some categories of ‘safe’ things we can sell to give you some ideas.

• Accessories (purses, hairbands, jewellery, hats, scarves, bags etc)
• Woollen items (hats, scarves, gloves, small blankets, booties, twiddlemuffs etc)
• Greeting cards
• Fabric items (lavender bags etc)
• Small artwork
• Sundries  (soaps, candles, plants etc)

EDIBLES
We don’t have a final decision on edibles as this needs further discussion re health and safety but we will confirm asap.

WHAT IF WE HAVE TOO MUCH
We will keep everything we have for future occasions or use some for raffle prizes.

WHAT DO I DO WITH MY DONATIONS
Please bring your donations to the May and June meetings so that we can take stock and plan for the event. We will need lots of help on the day and sign up sheets will be available at the May meeting.

ON THE DAY

We need to borrow:-

* a Gazebo
* Trestle table (or table to be the actual stall)
* Chairs for people on the stall

We need volunteers

* Six people to help set up
* Eight people on a rota to man the stall
* Six people to set down.

You can volunteer for more than 1 thing if you are happy to be there for the duration.

Lisa Walsh will have sign up sheets at the next meeting.

Events update

Lots more events added for you to entertain yourselves with ladies, over and beyond our existing schedule of many clubs.

Running - Beginners Group

So ladies two reasons for this post. The first is to say thank you very much to Jacqui Evans who started up a beginners running club in January (it's now an affiliated group rather than a specific club but if it weren't for the Cale Green WI it wouldn't have got me there). 

This morning we completed our 8 (ish) week runners course and ran for 30 minutes non-stop. 

I'm amazed with how far we've all come from that first week and also that Jacqui managed to get me through it! 

Sally, Laura, Rosh and I ran this morning with her and there are another few (Lisa, Lou and Luisa) who couldn't make this morning but have been enjoying her expert guidance!

Stockport Community Choir Concert - Sunday 24th April

Venue: Walthew house @ 5 pm 

Stockport community choir will be doing a little concert for family and friends. We are celebrating 5 years since we formed and showing some of the songs we have learned over the years. 

It will be very informal and there will, of course be tea and cake.

We are hosting a Charity Music Evening for St Anns Hospice on Friday 22nd April.  Tickets are £9 and include a hotpot supper! Absolutely 100% of ticket sales go to St Anns as Stockport Homes have kindly donated the money for the hotpot and Cheadle Social Club and the band are donating their services! It's always a good night with songs for everyone to enjoy. There will also be a great raffle, with donations from local businesses and crafters! So why not grab a ticket and come and join the fun!
